Focus on an East Wichita Home Screening Room:
| see a description and equipment listing of this project here | |
![]() | |
![]() | This depicts the front proscenium of this screening room. The main screen is a 96" wide (16:9 aspect ratio) Stewart film screen. Below that is a media storage cabinet where the customer can store over 400 DVD's. On the right you can see the edge of a second manual pull down screen (72" diagonal - 4:3 aspect ratio). This retracts flush into the lighting soffit that wraps around the entire circumference of the room. The customer wanted a second projector and the smaller screen for PC gaming capability. |
![]() | This is basically the same as the previous image with only the soffit's indirect lights on, and all the other lights in the room off. This illustrates the architectural uniqueness of the soffit as it appears to float off the ceiling around the room when the lights are turned down. |
![]() | Here is another angle of the front of the room which shows how the 2 screens integrate into the room. During movie watching, the 2nd pull down screen is retracted up into the soffit. It is only pulled down for PC gaming, where one PC plays another PC (one on each screen). |
![]() | The same angle as above with all lights up. |
![]() | Here you can see one angle of the rear of the room and how the leather Cinema-Tech theatre seats (w/arm rest cup holders) impact both the look and the comfort of the room. This also shows how the main JVC D-ILA G-11 projector is integrated into the light soffit that wraps around the room. Also you can see the Kinetics Acoustic Control wall panels on the ceiling and the walls. |
![]() | Another angle of the rear of the room depicting both projector housings and their integration into the light soffiting. Notice the flush equipment cabinet in the left corner of the room. You can also see the indirect rope lighting around the edge of the seating platform. If you look carefully, on the floor between the group of 4 chairs and the single chair you can see the hinged door (1 of 2) of a floor pocket for plugging a laptop computer into the system. This shot also shows in more detail, the Kinetics Acoustic Control wall panels on the ceiling and the walls. |
![]() | A better view of one of the 2 floor pockets we installed by the seating. These heavy duty pockets have steel doors that close flush with the carpeting. Inside are connections for VGA (HD15 pin); Serial RS232 (DB9); Network LAN (Cat 5 - RJ45) and Audio In and Out (1/8" mini jack stereo). The customer can simply plug his laptop computers right into the system through these floor pockets. |
![]() | This equipment rack depicts a McIntosh MX132 theatre preamp/processor, a McIntosh MC-7205 5 channel amp, an RCA DTC100 hi def DirecTV satellite receiver, an RKR Video Cassini progressive scan DVD player/Home Theatre PC, 3 each RBH SAM200 200 watt subwoofer amplifiers and 2 each Panamax Max2000 surge protectors with AC line filtering and current sense switching/automation. |
![]() | Here we show the rear of the above Audio Video cabinet. These door open into another room in the house. The doors were custom made to match other cabinet doors in the room and simply look like another set of linen cabinet doors. |
![]() | Here we show some of the Kinetics Acoustic Control Wall Panels and an Acoustic Science Control corner tube. The panels not only look pleasing but offer mid range acoustic absorption minimizing some echo. The ASC corner tubes offer upper bass absorption and midrange diffusion - cleaning up any "muddy bass" and scattering any un wanted midrange echo localization |
